PromPerú

Background:
PROMPERÚ is the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism Specialized Technical Agency, responsible for the Promotion of Peru in exports, tourism and image. Communication Iberoamericana worked as the public relations and promotion agency for Promperú in Mexico between 2011 and 2013.

Goals:
Increase the number of travels, the length of stay and the expenditure of the Mexican tourists. Improve the tourist image of the destination and increase the number of packages sold by Mexican tour operators and travel agencies.

Public:
Direct public: Media specialized in tourism, tour operators, travel agencies and other professionals from the touristic sector.
Indirect public: potential travelers

Actions:
Execution of the promotional plan of PromPerú, contact with tour operators, travel agencies, tourist services, airlines and other member from the touristic sector; Contact with the media; Event management; Market research and fams and press trips; training sessions to the trade, database updating and crisis management.

Results:
Presence of Peru in specialized media; Enrichment of information on the destination Peru in the Mexican industry and generation of strategic alliances. Thanks to the organization of roadshows, familiarization trips and permanent contact with the media and the trade, Peru managed to position itself in the Mexican luxury market increasing its visits from 20,000 to 32,000 tourists. Perú reached a media value up to $ 12 million and created a motivation program for tour operators which was established through a network of partners between PromPeru, the Peruvian Embassy in Mexico, Peruvian restaurants, airlines, tour operators and Peruvian personalities
